Day 8: Acropolis

We ended the trip in style! This morning we spent two hours exploring the Acropolis in Athens. We climbed over rocks and around ruins, but spent most of the time admiring and learning about the Parthenon, the enormous Doric temple dedicated to the goddess Athena. Students learned about the various types of Greek columns and the numerous tricks of engineering that make the Parthenon so special. After lunch we visited the Acropolis museum for an even deeper dive into the marvels of the ancient site. Our final dinner together was on the top floor of the 360 restaurant with unimpeded views of a lit-up Parthenon. We had a blast playing trivia and enjoying each other's company for one last meal. What an amazing trip it was, back to the states tomorrow!
