Today we arrived in Granada.
After settling in in the hotel, we all walked to: el Centro de Granada. We visited el Corral del Carbón (the beginning of the Alcaicería-former silk market) where we also found the the Catedral de Granada (Renaissance XVI). The students really enjoyed visiting la Capilla Real (Gothic XVI) where one can find the remains of Ferdinand and Isabella (and also their daughter Juana la loca and her husband Felipe el hermoso).
From there, we visited la Plaza Nueva (ironically named that way as it is the oldest square in Granada), where we looked at the Real Chaceria. We then walked through the Albaicín towards el Mirador de San Nicolás, one of the tallest vintage points of Granada where you can see the whole city (including the Alhambra and Generalife).
The students had some free time to shop the many stores around the city center and before dinner, we all headed to watch a flamenco show. After the show, we had a family-style dinner at one of the many restaurants off the main street, followed by some well-deserved ice-cream.
