June 15: Xi’an Pagoda and Bell Tower

The day began with a flight from Shanghai to Xi’an. Upon arrival to Xi’an, our local tour guide spoke with the group about the ancient Chinese history and the historical importance of the city of Xi’an. We visited a pagoda that was constructed as a Buddhist temple during the Tang dynasty. The grounds surrounding the pagoda included a large bell tower, and one student got to ring the bell! The students have really appreciated learning about history and culture in the very places where it all took place.
