June 23: Student Voice: Siberian Tiger Park, Confucius Temple

Today’s update has been written by a student:

Today, we started off the day at the Siberian Tiger Park. It was very cool to see so many tigers in person and how they act in the “wild”. I had a great time at the Tiger Park. After that, we had a traditional Harbin stew for lunch which was phenomenal, as all of the food has been. We kicked off the afternoon at the mall, where many of us shopped and got a sweet treat! Then we journeyed to the Confucius Temple where we saw captivating statues and exhibits. Personally, this was very educational for me as I learned more about Confucianism. It was also very interesting to learn about what regular people would pray for at these temples. At that point, our friends Sunni and Nuonuo, had to leave. I really enjoyed meeting them, even though I was unable to talk to them, as it helped me further understand what day-to-day life looks like for students and kids. After another phenomenal dinner, we closed out the night with a farewell karaoke night for our seniors and to celebrate the trip. I love singing so I had a great time at karaoke night! A huge thanks to our chaperones for making this trip possible, it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me!
