The group’s first full day in Beijing was full of fun and laughter. Despite the hot weather, the students were very excited to explore the city. In the morning, the group visited Tiananmen Square and The Forbidden City, which was the imperial palace for dozens of Ming and Qing Dynasty emperors. Then, it was off to the Hongqiao Shopping Mall for a shopping spree! The students practiced their Mandarin skills as they haggled with the shop vendors. In the evening, the group ate at a hotpot restaurant, where the KeMuSan dance originated. The students danced in the restaurant, to the exuberant applause of the other restaurant customers!
